Analysts, Firms All Expect Stronger Earnings in 2003

If forecasts hold, 2003 will be a very profitable year for the largest San Fernando Valley companies.






Projections from the companies and analysts indicate that 17 of the 22 largest public companies in the area will see double-digit earnings-per-share increases in the coming year, 10 of those will see their earnings soar by more than 20 percent.






Only three of the top companies expect 2003 to be a flat year for earnings, and none anticipate a decline in earnings per share.






The estimates that follow are those provided by the companies, when possible, or consensus estimates by Thomson/First Call. All 2003 earnings and most 2002 earnings are estimated, as indicated.
