Three Attorneys Have
Recently Made Partner
An impending move is not just a sign that a law firm is growing. It is “a reflection of the extraordinary growth in the San Diego technology community.”
That is how Fred Muto, San Diego partner-in-charge at Cooley Godward LLP, describes his firm’s decision to lease 135,000 square feet of office space near UCSD.
San Francisco-based Cooley Godward recently signed a 10-year lease in a building under construction at 4435 Eastgate Mall, in the University Towne Centre area. The firm expects to move there in late 2001.
Cooley Godward already occupies 56,000 square feet on three floors of a nearby high-rise building. Lisa St. John, the firm’s director of administration, said Cooley Godward wanted to find office space that would keep its employees together while accommodating growth.
The local office now has more than 75 attorneys in San Diego, up from 68 in March.
Recent additions to the firm have included two partners: Dennis Childs, who came over from San Diego’s Sheppard, Mullin, Richter
